MATRESCENCE CEREMONIES FOR

PREGNANCY, BIRTH & POSTPARTUM

honor your transformational journey

througH the childbearing year

MOTHER'S BLESSINGWAY

pregnancy ceremony

Your most loved and trusted circle of women gather to celebrate your pregnancy. Common activities include belly painting with makeup, making candles that everyone will light when you tell us you are in labor, tying a red string around those in your village to symbolize interconnectedness, relaxing massages and a foot soak, and making a keepsake bracelet, necklace, or charm keychain, as a lasting reminder through postpartum and beyond of your village's love for you. Typically accompanied by a brunch, lunch, or dessert spread, herbal tea or ceremonial grade cacao, and fresh flowers.

CORD BURNING

birth ceremony

A tender way to honor your incredible placenta as the sacred connection and protection that held your baby until they were ready to be cradled in your arms. Beeswax or soy taper candles slowly burn the umbilical cord and close the vessels that once carried life to your baby, a powerful metaphor of the closure of this childbearing chapter of your life as you brought this new soul into the world. Soft candlelight washes over your placenta , fresh flowers, and herbs, as warm candle wax drips from taper candles. Bowls, candles, and flowers provided by me.

CLOSING OF THE BONES

postpartum ceremony

Rebozos and trusted hands slowly sift your body, then apply gentle pressure to the head, chest, hips, thighs, calves, & feet, by wrapping the rebozo snugly around your body and tucking it in under you before gently pressing on your body, as we guide you through meditative reconnection and honor the end of the transformational journey of birth. May also be accompanied by an herbal foot soak, tender massages, drinking a warming herbal tea or ceremonial grade cacao, ceremonial drums or a sound bath, and trauma processing with a trusted group of birth-keepers if you desire to share your childbearing experience, depending on your preferences.

CEREMONY PHOTOGRAPHY

$50 OFF MY HOURLY RATE, JUST $100

I've decided that photography for these maternal ceremonies should be financially accessible to more moms due to the intimate, communal, vulnerable, and healing nature of ceremonies. If your birth team is hosting a ceremony for you and you'd like to have it photographed, I'm happy to capture these tender moments for you.

They mean a lot to me on both a personal & professional level as a result of my passion for maternal mental health & interconnected community support, I would love to work with your doula or midwife to provide your photography coverage so you caN ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW THIS FELT.

If financial burden is a barrier to you, please know I am RECEPTIVE TO deferred payment, discounted rates, trading services, or bartering.

If you have the means to pay more than I'm requesting & would like to add a tip, I set aside those tips in my community fund to offer discounted rates to moms who generally cannot afford my standard pricing, let alone the industry standard for our area. Thank you so much for making it possible to discount or volunteer my services to our community!
